Christmas Reading!

Suggestions from the Pastors

Even though this is a busy time of year, it can be helpful and relaxing to read some good books. I asked the Pastors for some reading suggestions.

 From Pastor Lynn Shetzer:

Kneeling in Bethlehem by Ann Weems is a wonderful book of seasonal poems. The Gift of Being Yourself by David G. Benner and Let Your Life Speak by Parker Palmer are wonderful for anyone wondering about what God may be calling them to be and do.

Lynn also recommended Our Greatest Gift by Henri Nouwen as an excellent book on the meaning of life and death.

On a lighter note, a fun read is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows.

From our Minister of Music, David Carnell: Dave suggests 3 books from our library.

40 Days with the Messiah (Day-by Day Reflections on the words of Handel's Messiah) by David Winter (232.1 WINT)

Then Sings My Soul (150 Hymn Stories including Christmas Carols & Hymns) by Robert J. Morgan (783.9 MORG)

101 More Hymn Stories (101 Hymn Stories including Christmas Carols & Hymns) by Kenneth W. Osbeck (783.9 OSB)
